The club was created by eleven women on September 21, 1901 and began working to help to improve the Plaza. In 1903 the Woman's Club helped pay for the initial repairs on the old Mission and continued donating to its restoration until its completion in 1912. In 1905 enough money was raised to purchase a fountain, a horse trough, and taps for humans. In 1911 a more ornate fountain was purchased and installed on the north end of the Plaza.
The club is also the original sponsor of the Sonoma Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

2006-2007 was another year of meeting monthly for the purpose of building friendships and serving the community.
List of the disbursments from the club treasury through the hard work of the members: $1000.00 for two high school scholarships, $1000.00 for two Teen Parent scholarships, $2000.00 for Love Our Libraries, $300.00 for the YWCA Woman's Shelter, $600.00 to Kid's Scoop, Newspapers in Education for funding two classrooms, $100.00 to The Teen Center and $500.00 in the budget to fund next year's scholarships.

The elected Board of Trustees is responsible for the repair, upkeep and rental of the clubhouse and grounds. All actions taken by the Board of Trustees are subject to the approval of the Executive Board.
